We are a local company based just outside of Pittsburgh in Monroeville, PA. We specialize in moves originating in Pennsylvania, OH and West Virginia going anywhere in the continental USA.
  
We are an actual moving company operating our own trucks and employ full time professional movers. We are not a broker which means you will not be required to sign two separate contracts.
  
We guarantee pick up dates and times. No windows of 3 or 4 days. Our guarantee will save you time, money, and inconvenience.
  
We offer next day delivery to cities and towns within a 300 mile radius of Pittsburgh like Columbus, Cleveland, Buffalo, Washington DC and Baltimore. Next day service is also available from those cities/towns to Pittsburgh.
  
For first time customers, we offer 4 FREE wardrobe boxes for use during the move.


Our Services

Frontier Van Lines offers door to door service for our customers. Our services, in addition to long distance moves, include local moves, professional packing and storage solutions. These services can be customized to meet any budget and your Relocation Consultant will help you choose which solution works best for your move.

DELIVERY OPTIONS - Frontier Van Lines offers all of our customers 3 options for long distance deliveries. They are as follows:

  • DIRECT DELIVERY
    Direct delivery means that upon completion of loading your belongings on our truck, the truck will begin to travel to your new home. This is a more expensive option than split shipment delivery; however, it does provide you the convenience of having your belongings as soon as possible to your new home.


  • GUARANTEED DELIVERY
    Guaranteed delivery means that you may not be available immediately to accept the direct delivery; however, you wish to have your items delivered on a specific date. This is also a more expensive option than the split shipment delivery.


  • SPLIT SHIPMENT DELIVERY
    This is the most economical way to ship your items; however, it does require patience in regards to the delivery of your items. SPLIT SHIPMENT OFFERS NO GUARANTEED DELIVERY DATE. The length of time it takes to deliver your items is dependent on the distance of your move and the dispatch of the truck. Your relocation consultant will be able to give you an average window for delivery for your move. THE DELIVERY WINDOW BEGINS ON THE FIRST DATE YOU TELL FVL YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY. The window does not start on the day of the pick up. The AVERAGE WINDOW is calculated by business days - not calendar days.
Please understand that all three options are available to all customers. When first planning the move, most customers are more concerned with the cost of the move. If cost is the only factor in your decision making, then the split shipment may be your best option. If the delivery date is more important, direct delivery or guaranteed delivery would be your best options.

Regardless of the delivery option you choose, we recommend you take with you on your trip to your new home the following:

  • Clothing that you will need for the length of time you may be without your shipment.
  • All medications, health related equipment and toiletries.
  • Any paperwork you will need for your new employer.
  • Computer – if possible.


It is nearly impossible to find one item that is packed in the truck! If you have any questions regarding what you should take personally, please speak with your Relocation Consultant.

Pricing - Moving services can be very costly. It is important to Frontier Van Lines that you understand the services we offer and their corresponding charges. In a standard move, the charges can be broken down into 4 different components as follows:

Transportation - The transportation rate is based on the weight of your household goods and the location of your new home. Your Relocation Consultant will work with you to determine the transportation cost based on our inventory software that assigns industry standard weight to your items. We guarantee your price per pound should your move be heavier than estimated. For instance, if we quote you 5000 pounds at a rate of $.50 per pound and your move is actually 5500 pounds, the 500 additional pounds will be charged at the same rate of $.50 cents per pound. Weight is determined by weighing the truck prior to picking up your belongings and reweighing the truck after we have completed loading your items.

We receive time and date stamped weight receipts from the weigh stations and simply deduct the starting weight from the ending weight to determine your actual weight. For standard long distance moves, there are no additional charges for mileage, taxes, driving, overtime and weekends. In some cases, the actual charges will be done by cubic feet due to timing and availability such as: broken scales at the weigh stations, last minute moves and small Saturday moves.

Services included in the transportation rate are as follows:
 Disassembly of your beds and furniture
 Loading and carefully securing your belongings onto the truck.
 Unloading and placing your items where you desire in your new home.
 Reassembly of your beds and furniture that were disassembled at pickup.
 Free basic valuation for your belongings of 60 cents per pound.

Professional Packing and Packing Materials - We understand the least favorite part, and sometimes the most stressful part, of moving for our customers is the packing! The time, effort and confusion can be easily and quickly eliminated by Frontier Van Lines. In most cases, we are able to pack your home in one day or less. Our movers are professionally trained to handle art, antiques, designer furniture and pianos.

Frontier Van Lines offers a full line of professional packing services including full packing, partial packing and individual item packing. It is highly recommended that you leverage our expertise to ensure the protection of your valuables during your move. These services are charged based on time and materials. The Frontier Van Lines' foreman on your move will provide you professional advice on how to safely transport your belongings. Click here for a list of prices for our packing materials.

First time customers receive 4 FREE wardrobe boxes for use during the move. Each box can fit up to 40 hangers. The moves will bring these boxes the day of your move.

Please understand that there are standard packing requirements in order to insure your belongings for the move. If your item/items are not packed appropriately, you have the choice of having Frontier Van Lines pack the item for you or leaving the item behind. Again, due to insurance purposes, the movers are not able to load items on the truck that are at high risk for damage.
